I decided to go and check out Miami Trails above Oakhurst, CA this morning. It is about 1 hour from driveway to staging area. Yes, I went alone, and I had all 60+ miles of trail to myself, not a soul was there. It was kind of nice. The bike ran great, the ground was not to dusty and the weather was awesome. It is a relief to find a good spot to ride so close to home. I left at 6 a.m. and was back in my driveway by 1p.m. I did spend half the morning back-tracking places I had ridden because I forgot to zip up the pocket I had put my wallet in and discovered it missing at around 8 a.m. The rest of the morning was good, some tight twisty single track, some wider trails, and some fast fire road. And to top it off, I high-centered the van leaving the staging area. Of course, being all alone, there was no one around to help me out... so I pushed and pulled for a while and finally got the van over the hump... Dang I wish I had a truck... stinking family
